An Interactive, Virtualised Gigamap
In collaboration with the RELINK research project at SIFO (Consumer Research Institute), we developed an interactive Gigamap designed to highlight the systemic mapping and proposed interventions of smart home device awareness + protection.
RELINK is a project that aims to create frameworks, tools and scenarios to raise awareness and reduce digital vulnerabilities in connected homes.

Developed a proprietary connections visualiser, which users could turn off and on. Nodes were also able to be picked up and moved around!
the "intervention house" which contained systemic interventions for better smart home security and awareness.
Intervention 1 - Utilising packaging on Wi-Fi routers to educate people to change default passwords and update firmware.
Intervention 2 - Promoting a different language set when asking users to create stronger passwords, by explaining why it is important.
3rd Intervention - Going meta and spooky by highlighting how tools and devices can be covertly tracking your data!
